Uses high frequency sound waves to detect amniotic fluid, producing a loud continuous tone if fluid is present. When animal is not pregnant, produces an intermittent recurring tone. Intermittent tone also indicates that good contact is made.
Automatically turns off when battery needs recharging, protecting against erroneous readings due to insufficient power. Microprocessor-based, software controlled high reliability electronics, enclosed in an all-metal case. All-metal construction guarantees against interference by radio waves. Constructed of heavy gauge aluminum for ruggedness and ease of cleaning, yet lightweight and small enough to slip in pocket. Self-contained, rechargeable nickel metal hydride battery pack with approximately 2-4 years battery pack life. Environmentally friendly battery. Approximately 8 hours operating time on full charge. I bought these to use as collars for alpacas. By connecting 2-3 together you can easily cut to adjust and leave room for fleece growth. Sharpie works great to write their name. Colors can be used to ID sex and any conditions - pregnancy, special diet, etc.
Ordered for my son as this was one of his requests for Christmas. He was very pleased.
