Dual-Force First Defense Gel for calves s made from 100% dried colostrum to provide antibody-driven immediate immunity against both bacterial and viral scours in newborn beef and dairy calves. Ready to use oral gel; give to newborns as soon as possible after birth as a one-time preventative treatment for newborn calf scours.
First Defense gel tubes provide consistent antibody levels to protect newborn calves against E. coli and coronavirus. The maternal immunoglobulins and standardized levels of E. coli and coronavirus antibodies bind and neutralize pathogens, minimizing death loss from these 2 major causes of scours. Same formulation as First Defense bolus, yet in a convenient syringe dosing.

- Preventing scours in newborn calves helps reduce the need to use treatment antibiotics later in life
Directions:Â
Do not delay colostrum. For best results, Dual-Force gel should be administered to calves orally, within 12 hours after birth. Remove the tube cap, placing the tip at the back of the throat, toward the cheek pocket. Initiate the plunger and squeeze the entire tube contents into the calf’s mouth, ensuring the calf swallows all of the gel.
Precautions:Â
Store refrigerated (35-46°F, 2-8°C). Do not split dose between multiple calves. Use entire contents when first opened. Blue dye is non-digestible serving as a tracker through the system to ensure calf received treatment. First fecal stool after administration will be blue-green in color. For use in animals only. Do not mix with other products, except as specified on the label. Preservative: Thimerosal
